About Us
Our Story
Our desire is that no one should have to travel far to find support when faced with a difficult pregnancy choice or after having had a termination.
Here at The Well Pregnancy Choices Centre, we will give you a safe space and time to share your story. We will support you in an unbiased, non-directive, compassionate way as you explore the options available to you if you are facing a difficult pregnancy choice. We can also support you through our post-termination programme if you are having difficulties following a termination.
The Well Pregnancy Choices Centre is a registered charity and has a board of trustees.

I completed a Pregnancy Crisis Counselling course in 2003 and a post-termination counselling course in 2004. I have volunteered at a centre in Stoke on Trent and a centre in Mossel Bay, South Africa. While in South Africa, I also founded a charity aimed at helping girls in the poorest community to continue their education by giving them access to toiletries and by encouraging them to be the change in their neighbourhood.
On returning to England, I had a desire to set up a pregnancy centre in Cheltenham and have been working towards realising that dream. I have updated my skills by completing the PCN Level 3 accreditation in Pregnancy Choices Support and the PCN course in Post-Termination support. I work for Pregnancy Centres Network (PCN) as a trainer of their Pregnancy Choices Course and their Post-termination support course and manage The Well Pregnancy Choices Centre
There were 1,568 abortions in Gloucestershire in 2021. Research shows a woman (and her partner) are best able to cope with an unintended pregnancy decision when it is made free from pressure or fear, knowing they have made a truly informed choice, even if it is difficult at the time. At The Well Pregnancy Choices Centre, we are able to provide the time, space and care that is needed for people facing a Pregnancy Choice. We meet with clients face-to-face, or arrange telephone or video consultations, and discuss all their options. Clients are given the space and support to make an informed decision without fear, pressure or judgement.

All our services are free and confidential* and are open to women, men and couples.
Volunteers at The Well have completed the PCN Level 3 accredited Pregnancy Choices Course (or have equivalent experience) and in-house Pregnancy Choice Support training.
Volunteers are further trained in our specific post-termination support course ‘The Bowl’ and all receive regular, ongoing, supervision and training.
*All our support is confidential; therefore it will not be shared with anyone outside of the organisation (unless in the rare case you disclose something that indicates you or someone else is at risk of harm. We may then have to inform someone, but you will be kept fully aware of any actions we take, unless there is a risk to ourselves, or someone else, in doing so.)
